joyas mexicanas gabriela sanchez artemisaygabriela

Gabriela Sánchez grew up in a jewelry family. This is how she learned the art of jewelery and how to appreciate jewels as pieces that treasure and carry emotions. Through this experience, Gabriela is inspired and creates small representative and unique silver sculptures of what she is most passionate about; her roots, the Mexican culture.

Inspired by life itself, in sharing and transmitting a particular view of the Mexican world, through its corners, memories, flavors, landscapes and traditions, Gabriela Sánchez decides to create her own jewelery firm at age 35, which bears her name.

With more than 15 years in jewelery design, Gabriela shares this passion and life experience with her daughter Artemisa Ramírez, currently co-designer of the brand. Together they are a duo where experience and freshness have managed to innovate the firm and be within the Tapatio talent. Representing not only the essence and Mexican culture, but placing emotions in each piece, with moments and stories that are felt in a living Mexico, full of colors, textures, movement and, above all, symbols and traditions.

Each of its collections is characterized by highlighting the elegance of the silver in combination of gems from around the world – but especially the amber of Chiapas and the opal of Magdalena, Jalisco -, and colorful fabrics, with the intention of making each jewel a unique piece. So these two designers put at stake the creativity and work of artisans.

A creative process that starts from inspiration within a dream, a trip, or going through a place, then that idea goes to paper to translate it into wax, and after a long process, involving different people, elements and machinery, they give life to the jewel. Thus this metal like silver becomes authentic small sculptures full of personality and energy.

“Hearts”, “Silver fabric”, “Skeletons”, “Agave Plata”, “Silver toys” and “Infinity” are some of their collections, in which both designers tell us that their work is still spearheading fashion reference, with new proposals, loaded with tradition and Mexican pride.

Gabriela Sánchez has participated in different fashion scenarios and events as one of the tapatios talents of jewelry. She has been invited by the INBA, to make the Inspiration collection, based on the details of the Palace of Fine Arts; was awarded with the ENART Award in 2010; her jewels were carried by flaggers at the opening and closing ceremonies at the Guadalajara 2011 Pan American Games; In 2013 he participated in the celebration of the tenth anniversary of Mundo Cuervo where he presented the Agave Plata collection; won the first place in the International Jewelery Competition for the Chamber of Jewelry of Jalisco in 2015 and in 2016 was invited by Vogue magazine to participate in the “The Vogue Talents Corner” at the Colombia Moda week in Medellin.

Some of his pieces were presented at FashionWeekShanghai, in China, in Peru Moda, Jalisco Moda Nextel, the closing of the gala show runway Minerva Fashion in 2014 along with Benito Santos, as well as in several runways of Expo Joya.

Nowadays Gabriela Sánchez is considered a firm for creating unique designs of unlimited edition, with incredible finishes and handmade silver elements. Both designers have been commissioned to create collections where tradition meets the avant-garde, showing emotions in silver in different fashion scenarios nationally and internationally.
